The Caliboro Reserve
Nestled between gentle hills and the Perquilauquén River, in the drylands of the Maule Valley, The Caliboro Reserve is a privileged corner where nature, history, and wine meet. Its granite soils —preserved by the Solar family for generations— and the Mediterranean climate favor dry farming, giving life to wines with a strong sense of identity. With century-old vines, a diverse ecosystem, and colonial buildings over two centuries old, it is a haven where the past coexists with the present. We practice regenerative agriculture to care for this land and ensure it continues to bear fruit for centuries to come.
Our History
In 1995, Italian Count Francesco Marone Cinzano arrived in Chile and, together with the Solar family, founded Viña La Reserva de Caliboro in the Maule Valley. With dedication, we restored an old colonial winery and planted noble European varieties brought from France and Italy. At the same time, we set out to recover the ancient dry-farmed vineyards that already existed —a living heritage that continues to bear fruit to this day.
As a new generation, we continue this path with renewed energy, practicing regenerative agriculture and organic production. Our purpose is to create authentic wines that tell the story of Caliboro, convey the essence of our terroir, and keep alive the winemaking legacy of the Maule Valley’s drylands.
We do not inherit the land from our parents; we borrow it from our children.
Team
At Viña La Reserva de Caliboro, we live wine from the soil to the glass. Our daily work is guided by a deep respect for nature, and for the history and authenticity of our terroir.
