Respect and Preservation

Regeneration

At La Reserva de Caliboro, we practice conscious, regenerative, and organic agriculture, with a commitment to protect our land, the environment, and the surrounding community.

Regenerative Agriculture

Cultivate Life, Protect the Future

Regenerative agriculture goes beyond simply avoiding harm: it aims to revitalize soils, restore biodiversity, and strengthen ecosystems. We believe that a healthy vineyard comes from living soil, which is why we work with practices that support natural life rather than interfere with it

We do not use synthetic chemicals at any stage of cultivation or in the winemaking process. Instead:

  • We carefully plan animal grazing to naturally enrich the soil.
  • We allow weeds to grow in the vineyard, as they attract beneficial insects and help balance the ecosystem.
  • We promote soil microbial life, water retention, and the care of the native landscape surrounding our vineyards.
This work has led us to obtain Regenerative Verification from Land to Market, an international program backed by the Savory Institute, which scientifically evaluates the positive impact of our agricultural practices on soil, biodiversity, and the ecosystem.
Our winery is part of Slow Wine Coalitiona global movement driven by Slow Food that promotes a sustainable, inclusive, and environmentally respectful viticulture. Through agroecological practices and the celebration of cultural and biological diversity, we seek to transform the world of wine, sip by sip.

Caliboro Grape: Chile’s first native Criolla grape with documented winemaking potential

At Viña La Reserva de Caliboro, based on a genetic study by INIA led by Irina Díaz y Nilo MejíaThe Caliboro Grape was discovered, a unique white variety in the world, resulting from the natural cross between País and small-grain Muscat.

Following its identification, propagation of its plant material began and the first vineyard of this grape variety was planteda milestone marking the beginning of a new era for Chilean heritage wine.

The Caliboro grape is a legacy born in these lands and shared with the entire community, a heritage that extends from Caliboro to the world.
